Every so often I come across an album where every single track is so good it could be a single. The Beautiful Letdown is one such album. From the opening track 'Meant to Live' right through to the last note of 'Twenty-Four' you'll find yourself learning the lyrics to every single chorus, most of the verses and a few bridges too. The Beautiful Letdown is a rock album but within that the styles vary and all are good. 'This is Your Life' has an electronic feel, 'Gone', a more pop rock feel. Acoustic track 'On Fire' will reach your soul. In my experience that song has been known to be repeatedly played for a weekend by more than one person. If you like good music along with controversial but encouraging social messages you should seriously consider buying The Beautiful Letdown.

A brilliant album. Switchfoot being a Christian band offers a whole lot more then just a Christian band. This album has songs thats in all sort of styles. From the crunchy rock single "Meant to live" to the slow melodic piano accompaniment in "on fire" the album never gets tired or boring. All the songs have great melodys with some deep lyrics in a few of them. There isn't just 1 good song in the album, every song in the album is great. It's not an album that you pick out a few songs to listen, it is one of those that you have to listen to the whole thing to appreciate it.
Overall the album is rock/alternative even thought it does smudge the line that define what genre it is in. This is definitely the best switchfoot album and one of best rock/alternative albums out there.

another wicked album from switchfoot. they really know how to make a decent album filled with catchy hooks and some deep lyrics, such as in the first song, Meant To Live, which personally is my fave on the album. a must own for fans of rock and this band, you cant go wrong with this flawless album.
