Only two casting choices exist to play the devil: Old Scratch himself...and Jack Nicholson. The Witches Of Eastwick took the better actor, and this slyest, sexiest supernatural comedy thriller ever earned New York and Los Angeles Film Critics Best Actor Awards for the two-time Oscar winner.
Three modern-day "witches" (Cher, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer) yearn for Mr. Right in a New England town. Is the arrival of wealthy and irresistible Daryl Van Horne (Nicholson) a coincidence - or the women's unconscious sorcery at work? Based on John Updike's bestseller, The Witches Of Eastwick is a star-bright otherworldly delight.

This is probably the closest Jack Nicholson will ever get to playing himself. And he's a joy to watch as Old Nick himself, toying with the three witches of the title. It's entertaining and funny and dark in places. Watch this for an enjoyable evening of fun that won't mean much in the morning. Good escapist fun.
Alex, Jane, and Suki are three bored New England women left to live without their husbands. They innocently conjure up a mystery man, who could satisfy all their desires. A new man moves into town - and he fits the bill perfectly. Daryl Van Horne is filthy rich and wild eyed, and within days the three women have all discovered almighty power within themselves. Will good triumph over evil, or will Daryl continue to have his evil way with his witches ?
This is a wickedly hilarious movie. Chock a block with some dark and yet very humourous scenes, you cannot help but watch this very clever movie unfold from start to finish. Both my partner and I enjoyed this all the way. An exhilarating battle of the sexes with lots of magic and mayhem thrown in. Jack Nicholson is perfect as the womanising and yet strangely attractive 'horny little devil'. Also starring Cher and Susan Sarandon. A fantastic and enjoyable way to while away a couple of hours by some great casting and exuberant acting. One to enjoy over and over again.
This is a genre blending film I found at Fry's Horror section for only $2.49 retail. It can be described as a supernatural Battle of the Sexes with horrific, comedic, and dramatic elements with a bizarre love story/ orgy at the center of it. The 3 "witches" (Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer) make a request for the perfect man who is delivered to them in the form of Daryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson) aka the Devil.
