Five years have passed and Jake has turned his back on his family. A follow on from Once Were Warriors. Personally I prefer the first one, but this is a good sequel to where things are up to five years on from the violence and tragedies of life in the slums of Auckland. Definitely worth watching to catch up with life as it is now.
The once proud tradition of the Mouri people is threatened by cultural breakdown and the violence in which they are forced to live. We return to one family, that was split apart by violence, and find one of the children, now adult is dead, and the other two have found themselves struggling to live in a world which has become all too familiar to them. A really well done film.
