The Cold Case team is a crack squad of police investigators who reopen unsolved murder cases, using new technology to re-examine evidence that hopefully will lead to the killer. They are at the cutting edge of modern police investigation, but they have been given just one year to prove their worth. Their first case is the abduction and murder of Alice Miller, a young girl who disappeared five years ago. As the team gets to work, they inadvertently trigger the killer to strike again in exactly the same manner as before, and the Cold Team find themselves solving past and present crimes at the same time.
Waking the Dead has been really badly managed in Australia, with different TV stations having it on a differing times, this was my opportunity to actually just watch them in a run. This is a cold case series, which is dark and serious and much better than the US Jerry Bruckheimer model. The characters are interesting and cases a real challenge. The interaction between the characters is interesting, as they work through their own stories and the cold cases.
