This is one movie that will survive the ages, as it's message is timeless. The dark vision of this movie is something everyone should see, especially considering our current climate of eroding personal liberties and expanding government powers. It's set just a few years from now, in a slightly darker future. England is ruled by an authoritarian regime, brought to power by the mindless voting of terrified people in the wake of some ugly "terrorist attacks" against the population. This repressive regime rules every aspect of the peoples daily lives with an iron fist. V exposes the truth and makes the people think for themselves. I won't give away any more.. let me just say that V for Vendetta is very well done, and makes you think.

If you're thinking V for Vendetta would be full of action like the matrix, think again. This is a deeply political movie centering on the notion that in the future, England's goverment has basically changed from a democracy to a dictatorship, due to special measures/ powers given to the prime minister due to some kind of global disaster.

Hugo Weaving is brilliant as the masked V. His acting is superb as he's fully behind the mask through the whole movie, but manages to convey the depth of his characters emotions and past thru simple gestures and body language.

Definately a brilliant watch

An excellent movie with a powerful message. The story is compelling and involving and the acting is brilliant. I love how V's face is never revealed - the power of symbol in this film is just incredible.

I can't compare it to the book series, having never read them, but I hope they are as good as this film! Everyone should watch this!

One of the best movies that I have seen in years. I was very happy with the adaptation from comic book, Hugo Weaving as V was excellent and this has to be Natalie Portman's best role that I have seen her in.

Based on the graphic book of the same title, V for Vendetta is a very enjoyable movie,. Starting with a glimpse into the future of Britain being a fascist state, and V who is taking it upon himself to bring the facist government down. He rescues Every and she becomes his partner in fighting facism. Good special effects and acting and a good movie

An incredible movie! When you put together the exciting and twisting story, fantastic acting and stunning visuals, V for Vendetta is a beautiful, powerful and exciting movie. Hugo Weaving makes a spectacular V - I cannot think of anyone better to play him, and Natalie Portman should *always* shave her head! This is definetely worth viewing and I would reccomend it to everyone.

Amazingly enough, they managed to do a pretty good job of taking the classic V for Vendetta and turning it into a movie without totally wussing out, or completely changing it (apart from making the character of Evey an officer girl rather than a whore). Very well done, indeed.

Words can not describe the complexity of the Wachowski bros movies. The intensity of this film was a little too overwhelming for me. This movie explores similar themes to the Matrix, although more politically motivated than it. Disturbing on all levels. Portman is as always a great actress and is obviously willing to go that extra mile and forfeit her feminity for a good story (which most actresses wont even attempt). I would not watch this again but it is worth watching once for impact.

V For Vendetta is one of my favorite movies ever. The story stars with Evey, a woman who is trying to visit her boss. When she is attacked by the police, a mysterious figure, V, helps her. When he meets her, he makes a speech using much alliteration with the letter V, ending with, "You can call me V."

If you loved matrix then this is your kind of movie. V for vendetta is packed full of action and with superb acting this movie stands to be remembered for a long time. V (Huggo Weaving) stands up against the corrupt government for the people who have no voice, and he makes his voice heard! A not to be missed film
