In this adventure swirling with cliffhanging excitement and awesome special effects, Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton play scientists pursuing the most destructive weatherfront to sweep through mid-America's Tornado Alley in 50 years. By launching electronic sensors into the funnel, the storm chasers hope to obtain enough data to create an improved warning system. But to do so, they must intercept the twisters' deadly path. The chase is on!

I loved this film and still watch it about once a month. An action packed movie with beautiful twisters all through it. Helen Hunt is awesome in this movie as a free spirited twister chaser with an uncontrollable urge to see in side one of natures most powerful storms. Holds up well to todays standards of CGI.
This is one of my all time favourite movies, obviously not up to today's standard but good none the less. An action packed movie with beautiful twisters all through it. A colourful collection of castmates that most will love. Highly recommended.
For me, this movie wasn't really all that great. I enjoy Helen Hunt and thought she acted relatively well but Bill Paxton was very "average". The graphics (for the time) weren't that good I don't think.. they could have done better.. it looked "fake" often. Reasonable storyline and okay for filling in some time on a rainy weekend
Another visually stunning movie that came out way back in 1996. It is decent enough, and not to boring, and is a rollercoaster of a ride movie. If you havent seen it before then chuck in your dvd and give it a blast. twister is set to make you go flyinng off your feet into space.
I've watched this movie several times and still enjoy it each and every time. A really capably acted movie with some of my favourite actors- Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton- as well as a plotline which although slightly improbable in places still manages to hold me and my family right through to the end. Lots of nicely done special effects and the movie is so fast paced that the time just flies along from one sequence to the next. Very entertaining and always worth a repeat watch.

I get a lot of stick from friends for saying this, but: I really like Twister. I enjoy a good thoughtful film as much as the next stuck-up film snob, but I also love damned good action flicks.
Twister is a big dumb summer blockbuster with no pretensions whatsoever. I *like* the fact that the money is all up there on the screen - lots of tornadoes ripping apart farmhouses and throwing trucks around. I *like* that it's one long chase movie. I *like* looking at Helen Hunt's beautiful face. I saw Twister twice at the cinema, and at least three times since - and I've enjoyed it every single time. Can you get a better recommendation than that?
Twister will never satisfy some people... in particular, those who watch it, for some strange reason, expecting a cerebral masterpiece. Enjoy it for what it is: One of the best summer blockbusters ever.
i have to admit i havnt seen this movies in years.... but i can still remember it.... it keeps you into the movie you feel yourself wondering whats gonna happen, will they make it... you can nervous and everything.... its a great movie.... you have to see it
a truly awful movie with some horrible acting from bill paxton and helen hunt. the special effects are the main star in this movie which i must say has some very god special effcects. but overall i found this movie to be incredibly cliched and basically like any other action movie you could possibly find. just not really worth watching in my opinion.
nb i want to give this 0 out of 5 but it wont let me.
