Arnie is back with another slew of classic one-liners but this time he's on the young John Connor's team. Linda Hamilton as mum could lighten up somewhat, but there are some really spectacular effects in this one including a terrific scene where a semi-trailer is almost entirely demolished!
Once again, the machines of the future are determined to get rid of their nemesis, John Connor. This time, they send a killer cyborg back to 1991 L.A., to kill the young John. As before, the resistance is able to send a protector back in time as well ...
Doesn't have quite the same impact as the first film, but as a no-holds-barred science-fiction/action film, it's definitely above average, with great chases, an incredible amount of gunfire, a fine cast, and some very impressive special effects. Does go on pretty long (I watched a special edition of the film that runs over two hours and a half) but that's a minor quibble.
Once again, it's a pleasure to watch the work of a film-maker who clearly knows what he's doing. Some directors are just hacks who don't have the style or talent to bring any sort of quality to their films ... at least James Cameron isn't like that.
I my opinon this film explains everything that the first film didn't answer and allowed us the explore the "what if" we could change the future. Arnold is at his very best and makes the fiim. I has great action packed scenes and resolves the terminator epic, or so we though. the motorbike scene is my all time favorite.
It's interesting that this film is based about 12-15 years after the first and that the villian has turned into the hero. Throughout the film Arnold moves from a killing machine into a thing with human emotions. I found this film techically better then the first one but emotionally shallow and the end of film the storyline is rather cheesey.
Terminator 2 is a kick ass sequel to the original and is on par in terms of storyline and action scenes. This time round a terminator is sent back to kill John Connor as a young boy, and Arnie is sent back this time to protect him. With mind blowing special effects that were ahead of its time, Terminator 2 is a must have for fans of action and sci-fi. Plus with this edition you'll have hours of bonus material to make the experience all the more enjoyable.
the second terminator movie is even better than the original, as arnie swarzneggor returns to the role that made him a star. i love the actor who returns from the future after arnold, as he arrives in current time naked and has a lot of explaining to do. worth watching even if you did not see the first film
The best terminator of all in my eyes. There is something about 1992-93 that appeals to me in movies, and its like there is a perfect blend of good visuals and dark storylines and simplicity, nowadays eveything is over the top. Terminator two is one of my favourite ovies of all time and my favourite scene is probably when arnold takes on the whole squad in the computer building and hes getting shot at....this is just a wicked must have film
The colors from the explosions, night scenes and steel mill look really good. Big improvement over the old one. The scenes where Arnold is shooting at the cops with the mini-gun, then grenade launcher, then the subsequent blowing up of the computer lab are wonderful in high-def with the sound cranked all the way up! Just never gets old!!
I liked the 2003 commentary track with James Cameron the most. You know this movie is cool when you watch it, you just don't know exactly why until you here this guy talk through some of the scenes. Rare opportunity to hear one of the greatest film makers ever talk through the whole thing. The attention to detail is incredible. This thing is more than 13 years old and still holds up against most of the modern sci-fi/action movies of today. Highly recommended.
This superb sequel surpasses the excellent original in every department and quite simply you won't see a better action film. Set 15 years after the original Arnie may return as the good Terminator trying to protect John Connor but he's a redundant piece of scrap metal compared to the T-1000.
The opening hour and the last half hour is absolutely breathtaking with action sequences that still remain unsurpassed. Their's also a wonderful piece of storytelling 3/4 of the way through where Dyson relises the terrifying consequences of the project he's neglecting his family for.
The performances are memorable particularly Linda Hamilton's Sara Connor and simply put, they'll never make a better action film.
i really like the terminator films. although the first in the series will remain my favourite, i still thenik that Terminator 2 Judgement Day is a really good film. you need to see this one if you ahve seen the first and really liked it. arnold does a great job as playing the machine, the movie is great.
