Jack Thompson is Foley, the best shearer on every station for miles around. Sunday Too Far Away is Foley's story of sweat-soaked days and rum-soaked nights, of bloody two-fisted punch ups... of scab labour brought in during the shearers strike of '56, and of the poor bastard who runs the place!

I remember watching this a long time ago, at high school. We were studying the life of the early Australian outback, and even though this is set later than that period, we watched this to get an idea of the life and the isolation, the rugged individuals who lived and worked there. The film is interesting, and Jack Thompson is excellent. Shows how hardy and macho these guys were.
