Based on Frank Miller's series of edgy graphic novels, co-directors Miller and Robert Rodriguez deliver an amazing ensemble cast in the coolest movie of the year!
Bruce Willis stars as Hartigan, a cop with a vow to protect a stripper, Nancy (Jessica Alba); Mickey Rourke as Marv, the outcast misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love; and Clive Owen as Dwight, the clandestine love of Shellie (Brittany Murphy), who spends his night defending Gail (Rosario Dawson) and her Old Town girls from Jackie (Benicio Del Toro), a tough guy with a penchant for violence.

I saw this movie in the cinemas the first time it came out and was completely blow away by the special effects and the gothic scenes. I totally had not heard of this movie and took a chance to watch it. It totally blew my mind!
The story follow three different characters living in Sin City, all of whom seem to interweave with the Bad Guys of the town. Our heroes are faulty to the core, and that and the killer way they brandish their weapons like crazy as MoFoS really brings this movie to the next level. Big A Plus from me!
Channel surfing late one night I stumbled across this film and stopped to look because of the unusual cinematography. It's visually stunning, mostly in b&w and that evokes a film noir atmosphere punctuated with those brilliant flashes of color. Two minutes later I couldn't take my eyes away. This unique film is superbly executed, the casting, the screenplay, the special effects, everything about it. As we all know, there is an expansive library of film work out there for a wide range of tastes and sensibilities. If yours are delicate, if you are offended by gore and violence, then this film will NOT be your cup of tea. Stay away from it. But if both the horror and film noir genres appeal to you, you'll probably find this movie as captivating as I did.
"Sin City" is four stories inter-weaved telling tales of corruption in Basin City. The first story (The Customer is always right) is short, and is based on the depression of women that they need to pay a man to feel loved when they commit suicide. The next story is Part 1 of "That Yellow Bastard" about a cop who needs to save a young girl from being raped. The third story (The Hard Goodbye) features a man taking revenge on a heartless killer who murdered his one-night stand. The fourth story (The Big, Fat Kill) stars a man who must dispatch a cop's body, but it will be a tough ride to do it. Following that are two conclusions to Sin City, the ending of "That Yellow Bastard" which is set 8 years later, and a short story that ends Sin City.
ohmg. suchaaa great film i mean just reading the plot ull really love it!!
Great movie, I was made to watch and study this film in high school last year. It may seem a little shallow at first, atleast to me it did but when you get further into it and watch it over and over like I was made to you will realise there are some really interesting visual and symbolic elements to this film.
It is great because you can view it as a simple action movie or take it much deeper.
Great movie, really really enjoyable. Having not read the books I can't really say how it compares but this is definetely worth a watch. The use of colour creates a fantastic comic book feel that really defines the movie, and the cropping and changing about of timelines makes it fun to spot characters who have already died/killed everything/blasted the crap out of others in the previous story. I can't wait to see how Sin City 2 fares
Great flick.
Really depicts Frank Millers dark comics in a majestic way.
Get the comic series, or book, get the movie and enjoy Frank Miller's spectacular 3 stories interlinked with the underworld of Sin City.
The best movie I've seen in a long time!
Bruce Willis and Clive Owen are phenomenal!
Four tales of crime adapted from Frank Miller's popular comics, focusing around a muscular brute who's looking for the person responsible for the death of his beloved Goldie, a man fed up with Sin City's corrupt law enforcement who takes the law into his own hands after a horrible mistake, a cop who risks his life to protect a girl from a deformed pedophile, and a hitman looking to make a little cash.
the thing i love most about this comic book adaptation is the way it is filmed- it is filmed in a very film noir style, with every thing in shades of black with only some objects in colour, and it gives the viewer a very surreal feeling and enhances the comic book feel. an excellent graphic movie
This is a strange but awsome movie it has so out of scense where you can pick out 1 colour sometimes its a car sometimes its some ones eyes it could be anything not for the faint of harted thats for sure some very grosum peices in this movie. Has a awsome characters in to Bruce Wills to the girl from Gilmours Girls. Its set out like a old school movie black and white. Must watch if you like your action movies this is another great movie to watch. I would give this miovie a A ++++ because of the great castings of characters.
sin city is a wicked movie, it has a unique style to it and is very dark. Its a movie which has 3 seperate stories in it but theyre all sin city stpries. it is a treat to watch if your into dark movies and real twisted plots. This could be regarded as an essential must have movie because its just something totally different for moviegoers.
