Acclaimed director Lawrence Kasdan followed up The Big Chill with 1985's Silverado, delivering another hit for Columbia Pictures and giving audiences one of the freshest and most exciting westerns in years. With an authentic look, an awesome cast and plenty of rousing action, Silverado brought back the thrill of the old west for a whole new generation.

A Western made when westerns weren't really made... or popular, until Eastwood made his brilliant "Unforgiven" in 1994... this is a fun film; it's no epic, but a good, solid cast and an exciting story make for a watchable film... look out for Kevin Costner as a young gunfighter tearaway... worth a look for western fans...

I love all the 'new' westerns that have been made, such as Tombstone, Young Guns 1+2, Long Riders and Silverado just to name a few. This has a wonderful ensemble cast that come together to elevate the film into a top class region, though it never manages to become truely epic.

One of the best of the relatively few westerns made after the near death of the genre in the seventies. Silverado is pure entertainment, rollicking and tongue firmly in cheek it has all the classic elements and makes gleeful use of them. Its a hard movie to resist and doens't take itself at all seriously.
