This is a great movie, and at a great price on here too! Robin Williams is just too hilarious, and the other voice actors do a great job also. It has a good moral story at its core - you can be special, no matter if you're a bit different from everyone else, and the importance of being a good friend. A great one for kids, that adults should love too (I know I did!).

This movie shows villian with out being violent. It's such a good movie for toddlers and for parents who watch and limit (or exclude) violence from their children's lives. It does have a little adult humor in it, but children SHOULD never pick up on it... like when the father says 'Making it is the best part'.... watch it and you'll know what i'm talking about!

The first 2005 film I've seen, and, really, it's the only one released so far this year that I have had even the littlest desire to see at the theater. It was worth seeing, but it's forgettable. The visuals are absolutely eye-popping. The film's best sequence is a Rube Goldberg-esque public transportation system across town. I think if that had gone on for 90 minutes, we would have had some kind of masterpiece on our hands. Instead, we get a dull story of a group of nearly outmoded robots rebelling against an evil company that is no longer building spare parts. The head of that company used to be all for the common folk, but he's disappeared and left a despot in his place. The underground area, where they melt scrap, is really cool, and reminded me of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Madame Gasket, who rules this part of the city, was the most interestingly designed character. Robin Williams is very annoying, but, to his credit, he is playing a character here, not just himself. I wasn't thinking "Man, is Robin Williams annoying," but rather, "Man, that character Robin Williams is playing is annoying." I doubt that could be taken as much of a compliment, though. All of the other main characters are especially forgettable, especially Halle Berry's character, who is supposedly the female lead. I think most of the audiences wanted the protagonist to end up with the second female lead, who is a tad more interesting. And I think the filmmakers realized this, too, because the hero only barely ends up with Berry at the end. The movie is also in need of laughs. I chuckled a bit, but that was all. The funniest moment is the robot who does the robot dance. As much as I can complain, though, I would still highly recommend (renting) it for the visuals alone.

Good, but something was just missing from this movie, some parts were really funny, but i guess there were a few too many stereotypes to have it match up to classic pixar and the likes of shrek. Robin Williams steals the show, Kids like this, but not as much as other animated films such as Cars for example.

"Robots" had a lot of potential, and it was with some interest that I watched it. However, I just thought it did not stack up against other films in the genre. The plot was good, and there was a lot of potential for development there. It was just not realised and it was fairly much a redone story anyway, (albeit now with robots).
Robin Williams really stole the show and overshadowed the other characters, with his usual zany portrayal. His character oozed Williams' usual humour and antics; it was a good casting choice.
The animation itself was excellent, and well executed. The detail was fantastic and this was a very visually pleasing movie. That side of the movie had little to complain about.
Overall, this was an ok movie. There is little in it for adults, (unlike some other movies in the same group), but the kids should like it a lot.

Here is yet another great animated movie, made for kids but enjoyable for adults too. Long gone are the days when we have to sit through horrible old disney movies with our kids, now we can be amused as well! A great story about a little robot Rodney trying to fulfil his dreams and help his family. Great for any age, even the really little ones.

what a wonderful movie, the main character Rodney embarks on a journey to Robot City where he hopes to meet his hero – a famous inventor called Bigweld but all is not well in Robot City and things aren’t what Rodney has hoped for, one for the whole family
