Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is celebrating the summer season with a four-part River Cottage series. Catching up on his Landshare campaign, Hugh follows some of the literally groundbreaking stories thrown up by all those amateur veg-growers finding new land. To celebrate the warmer weather, Hugh has filled his gardens with strawberry patches that he hopes will ripen in time for a massive strawberry fte for five hundred people.

Back in the River Cottage kitchen, Hugh will be whipping up seasonal delights and cooking up the finest edible goodies from the garden, the hedgerow, the river and the sea. From pea shooters, parsley pesto and potted trout, to roast potato gnocchi and goats cheesecake with gooseberries, Hughs delicious delicacies are all washed down with lashings of gorse flower wine and carrot and spruce beer.
