Video Grammy award-winning producer Michael Nesmith presents this outrageous contemporary comedy combining the seedy world of automobile repossession with science fiction. The off-the-wall, "anything goes" tale features a crazed ensemble cast led by Harry Dean Stanton and Emilio Estevez. As ace "Repo Men", the duo are out to beat ruthless government agents, UFO cultists, hired thugs, a lobotomised nuclear scientist and the infamous Rodriguez Brothers to an incredibly valuable '64 Chevy containing a secret that can change the course of civilisation overnight! Written and directed by former repo man Alex Cox, the explosive action-satire offers all the wit and whimsey associated with a Nesmith production and boasts a title tune by top rocker Iggy Pop.

I had high hopes for this film when I finally got my hands on it some weeks ago, but boy, was I disappointed. About a petty thug turned Repo Man, played by the Emilio Estevez (who is great, but still no Charlie Sheen), it starts off as a pretty normal situational comedy before descending into the realms of horror science-fiction and is full of lame-o cyberpunks (the 1980s most unintimidating villains).
Cult 1984 film starring Emilio Estevez as auto - repossession man Otto Maddox... Harry Dean Stanton plays his mentor... it is a wonderfully strange mix: part sci fi, part post-apocalyptic flick and part road movie; very funny & at the same time, very violent; the world Maddox inhabits is peopled with a wide range of whackos and wierdos, and this made the film a huge cult hit in the 80s... not to everyone's taste...
