Dustin Hoffman wins the coveted Best Actor prize for his brilliant portrayal of savant Raymond Babbitt. dustin hoffman won the best actor academy award for his role in this movie, and it only takes one watch for the viewers to be convinced that he with out a doubt served the recognition. tom cruise is excellent in this film as well, as the 'normal' brother who wants to gets his share of the inheritance from his brother
A lovingly inspirational movie that shows the difference between two brothers can eventually bring them together with love and friendship. One brother (Tom Cruise) is highly selfish and wants a share of his wealthy inheritance, while the other brother (Dustin Hoffman) is autistic and therefore extremely challenging for his brother. However, they learn to love and respect each other in this lovely movie.
Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman are unrivalled in their performances in this film. Hoffman's autistic brother is fantastic. This film is brilliant for every age group although it will be too deep for young children or those people with short attention spans. Rain man was a hit when it was release and is still considered a great film, this is rightly so. A classic from the out set this film deserves every good review it ever earnt.
