An overworked Bob Munro (Robin Williams), his wife Jamie (Cheryl Hines), their 15-year-old daughter Cassie (Joanna Levesque) and their 12-year-old son Carl (Josh Hutcherson) are in desperate need of some family time together. After promising to take them on a family vacation to Hawaii, Bob abruptly changes plans without telling them. Instead of a week in a tropical paradise, they're going on a road trip to Colorado in a recreational vehicle.
Dragging his wife and kids kicking and screaming into the RV, Bob's togetherness plan almost immediately hits a major speed bump. Everything that can go wrong does and, at an RV camp, they spend most of their time trying to avoid the irritatingly happy-go-lucky Gornicke family.
But adversity has a way of uniting even the most dysfunctional family. Each setback the Munros experience inadvertenly becomes a step towards becoming a true family again.
Robin Williams takes comedy into high gear in this hilarious hit from the director of Get Shorty and Men In Black. He plays an overworked father and husband whose plan to take his family on a cross-country vacation could either be exactly what they need to bring them back togetheror the biggest mistake of their lives! So buckle up and go along for a ride with the film that promises all the big fun you're family is looking for.
