The PRoposition is a bleak powerhouse of a movie an Australian anit-western written by Nick Cave, its battered and brutal and very compelling. An outlaw is captured along with one of his brothers, the obssessive police captain makes a bargain that he will let them both go if he brings in their other brother. The stage is set for a dramatic confrontation between the two estranged brothers against the beautiful backdrop of the outback. Remarkable.
