Burt Lancaster is always at his best when he plays cocky and upbeat... he plays a mate of Lee Marvin's; they were in the Mexican revolution together... together with robert Ryan and the physically imposing woody Strode they head out on a missionto rescue the extraodrinarily beautiful Claudia Cardinale... but all is not as it seems...
Nowhere near as depressing as Peckinpah's take on loyalty and friendship in the West...
The Professionals is one of the lesser known brilliant westerns that has such a good cast it couldnt have ever failed. The team that is established between the likes of Strode and Palance and Marvin is great and Claudia Cardinale shows some of the talent that she perfected in Once UPon a Time in the West. Be careful thought the extras listed on the back of the box were not featured anywhere on the DVD that i bought
