Set in Louisiana,in the 1920's ,The Princess and The Frog is a hilarious "modern" fairy tale with a twist!
Tiana, the daughter of of the town seamstress dreams of one day opening a restaurant with her father.Even though her after has passed away, she still holds on to the dream while working as a low paid waitress.
One day,Prince Naveen of some European country, visits Louisiana in hope of snagging a Princess or at the very least a heiress to line his pockets. In Lousianna he encounters a dark Voodoo magician who changes him into a frog.
At the party hosted in his honor,Naveen hopes to find a princess to help him break the spell. He mistakes Tiana for a princess when she borrows her rich friend Charlotte's gown.Promising her, her own restaurant Naveen convinces Tiana to give him a smooch but instead of turning back to normal she also turns into a frog!
What follows is their adventure through the swamps of Lousianna, accompanied by a trumpet blowing alligator and a fire fly.
Naveen is kind of irritating as a ne'er do well prince because he makes Tiana do all the work, but gradually he does change..
This was a really entertaining fairytale with a bittersweet twist.
