Another movie from Disney following the first movie, The Pricess Diaries. Princess Mia has just graduated and has flown off to the land of Genovia, where she thinks it's time for her to take up the crown, after her grandmother.
As movies go, this is entertainingly cute, but mostly it's a kids movie. Anne Hathaway as always is very easy to watch, but this movie ooozes cheesyness to the max.
Great kids movie, as intended...for adults there are some scenes that are a cringe.

A great sequel to Princess Diaries one! Mia is grown up and planning to take over the crown - but there is a twist - she has to find someone to marry! This hilarious film follows her exploits - she tries so hard to behave like a princess but always slips up somewhere or other. Great giggling material for your young teens and also mums & aunties.

In 'The Princess Diaries 2', Mia Thermopolis is now a college graduate and on her way to Genovia to take up her duties as princess. Her best friend Lilly also joins her for the summer. Mia continues her 'princess lessons'- riding horses side-saddle, archery, and other royal. But her complicated life is turned upside down once again when she not only learns that she is to take the crown as queen earlier than expected, but that she is also to be married before this event. Robert Schwartzman will not be reprising his role as Mia's love interest.

Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement . . . Definately not as good as Princess Diaries 1 but I still loved it, it was a really great heart warming romantic comedy that does not end quite how I expected, it was an all round great movie . . . A classic, I will give it five stars and it deserves every single one of them.

joh, this movie was such a let down. i thought the first one was really magical and charming, but this one was just lacking in everything. it was weird how they made the story so that she hurreidly had to get married, and it is not true to the books in the SLIGHTEST! anne hathaway is great as the role though, what a lovely girl she is. loved the sleepover scene nonetheless, it looked like such fun.

The first Princess Diaries movie was definitely much more endearing and original than this sequel. Anne Hathaway reprises her role as the Cinderella like girl who discovers in the first movie that she is actually a Princess and heir to the throne of some far away little country governed and ruled by her paternal grandmother played with class and aplomb by the agelessly graceful Julie Andrews. In this follow up, Hathaway discovers she can only be crowned Queen if she is engaged and married first. What ensues is a predictable storyline with very few surprises. Hopefully there won't be another third movie to this undoubtably blander offering.

i was surprised since the first movie was based so heavily on the book of the same name (the princess diaries) that this second was almost not based on the second book at all, mia thermopolis never is forced to marry any one in the second book. this is still very highly recommended buy it and watch it

Chick flick? Of course! Especially appealing to young (under 18) chicks? Definitely! Enjoyable to other adult women and men who just want a happy trip to fantasy land with no worries about sex, blood, or blue language? Absolutely!
Take this film at face value and you'll enjoy it. If you can't do that, don't bother seeing it. There are plenty of other "profound" movies out there to inspire, teach, or depress you! Go for a good time and you'll have it.
