In Pale Rider, Clint Eastwood returned to the saddle after nine years - and Western movies were riding high again. Here the star/director crafted an exciting film in the suspenseful tradition of Shane and High Noon. After corporate mining boss Coy LaHood begins a campaign of terror to drive independent pan miners out of the area, a nameless stranger called Preacher rides into the underdogs' camp. He becomes their avenger. The tycoon then hires a badge-wearing killer and his duster-shrouded deputies, men loyal to whomever pays the most. LaHood pays gold. But in a climactic shootout to remember, Preacher pays in lead.

I give it 5 stars it is just so great, the story line kept on going even after it finished just running in my head over and over and over again, I love this movie and you will to you should definitely buy this DVD.

Westerns just take me away, it is an action packed classic full of shoot ups and gun fights, it is an amazing movie, I have this in my collection and you do to, This movie is an absolute classic no collection is complete without it!

1985 Clint Eastwood Western, directed by and starring the man hisself...Eastwood again plays a drifter, an unorthodox "preacher" cum gunfighter... supernatural overtones similar to "High Plains Drifter", only less eerie... not bad, but not a great film... worth a look for Eastwood fans, and fans of the genre...
