The chase is on! Ashley Judd shines in this unstoppable, untoppable box-office smash that co-stars Tommy Lee Jones in his "best performance sinceThe Fugitive."
Judd plays Libby Parsons, who discovers that the husband she's convicted of murdering staged his own "death" and framed her for the crime. Released on parole, she skips town to find him - and that puts parole officer Travis Lehman (Jones) on her trail. Packed with more crowd-pleasing excitement than several movies put together,Double Jeopardy delivers "lots of action and spine-tingling suspense from start to finish."
I love this movie. Tommy Lee Jones and Ashley Judd make a great combination, even if you know whats about to happen you're still biting your nails. Its rare to find a decent thriller these days and I have been trying to track it down for ages and Fishpond delivered it to my door.
Libby Parsons is happily married to Nick and has a wonderful son, Matty. One day while spending the night on their boat, Libby wakes up and finds Nick gone and blood all over the boat and a bloody knife. When an investigation begins, it's discovered that Nick was financial trouble and had a two million dollar insurance policy. Though claims that she knew nothing about it, she would be convicted and sent to prison. She entrusts Matty to her friend, Angela and it's during one of her calls to Matty that she learns that Nick is alive. And she also learns that since she's already been convicted of killing Nick already, she can kill him and not be charged. After seven she's paroled and placed in the custody of Travis, a parole officer.
I can't quite put my finger on this one as to why, but I enjoy this movie. Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones play their roles well.
The storyline is not one that Hollywood has rehashed time and time again, nor is it time specific. So while not being a classic, it is worth a gander at least once.
This is a film that someone who likes an intelligent story line can sink their teeth into. Judd for some reason just comes across quite flat to me like she doesnt have emotion but she did an ok job. The storyline was interesting and I enjoyed the ending.
Not Ashley's greatest film, but there are some good scenes, like breaking into the school, and the car on the ferry boat scene. Tommy Lee Jones is playing the same character he's played in several other films (different name of course) but he still is solid. Ashley goes to prison for murdering her husband, serves some time and comes out none the worse for wear...Still as gorgeous as the day she alledgedly slashed hubby to death on the yacht. Husband and husband's girlfriend are pretty stupid in the over all scheme of ...Ah..scheming. The plot has some problems, but with solid acting by Both Jones and Ashley, this is a decent way to pass a couple hours.
This movie is a classic, Ashley Judd plays the ever patient wife jailed for a murder she did not commit. All she wants is to be reunited with her son,but not before the many twists and turns that you do not see coming. The acting is great, with Judd playing the patient and unpredictable person. It really highlights the essence of the legal term, double jeopardy. This makes for great viewing.
This film is brilliant, easy to watch and highly unpredictable. Ashley Judd is brilliant as the vengeful, wronged wife. Tommy Lee Jones plays the cop who is hunting her down after she breaks her parole. This film is very good and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys unpredictable, mysterious thrillers. A very good film.
oh yeah this is probably one of the more sillier movies starring ashley judd as the woman who is wronged by her man and then takes revenge. um actually no this one is ok but the rest are absolute crap along came a spider, kiss the girls, twisted and high crimes. has some good moments in it but overall its fairly lame and not essential viewing.
The main problem here is that the big "twist" in the film's story - which appears halfway through - is shown for all to see in the film' advertising... Ashley Judd plays a woman charged with murdering her husband, only to find out he's played her... Tommoy Lee Jones plays here parole - kind - of - guy, and, as usual, is great...
i enjoyed this movie alot. it follows the journey of a woman wrongly convicted of her husbands murder as she tries to reveal the truth of the situation. i enjoyed the general plot and the performances from the actors, all did a really good job on portraying their characters. its a thrilling, suspeseful movie and i recommend it to all.
watch it and enjoy
