The best Monty Python effort. You feel good because it's so absurd.

This is perhaps one of Monty Python's most famous movies with some very quotable scenes coming from it. The story is based around King Arthur, (forget the Clive Owen version here!), with the usual Monty Python twists in it.
Personal favourites are the black knight and the socialist serfs. Still, both scenes can reduce me to tears of laughter. This really is medieval tales as only Monty Python could ever render them.

Great medieval comedy about King Arthur and the search for the Holy Grail, this is one of Monty Python's best. Overloaded with joke after joke, including the Knights of Nee, the Killer Rabbit and the Black Knight, it isn't as skit based as some of their other films, but tells a funny story. Fans of Monty Python will love this film.

The movie starts out with Arthur, King of the Britons, looking for knights to sit with him at Camelot. He finds many knights including Sir Galahad the pure, Sir Lancelot the brave, the quiet Sir Bedevere, and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir Lancelot. They do not travel on horses, but pretend they do and have their servants bang coconuts to make the sound of horse's hooves. Through satire of certain events in history (witch trials, the black plague) they find Camelot, but after literally a quick song and dance they decide that they do not want to go there. While walking away, God (who seems to be grumpy) come to them from a cloud and tells them to find the Holy Grail. They agree and begin their search. While they search for the Grail, scenes of the knight's tales appear and why they have the name they have. Throughout their search they meet interesting people and knights along the way. Most of the characters die; some through a killer rabbit (which they defeat with the holy hand grenade), others from not answering a question right from the bridge of Death, or die some other ridiculous way. In the end, King Arthur and Sir Bedevere are left and find the Castle Arrrghhh where the Holy Grail is. They are met by some French soldiers who taunted them earlier in the film, so they were not able to get into the castle.

It would be out of this and "Life of Brian" as to the best or most popular Monty Python film... released in 1975, this went out to have a huge cult following... no horses, just a servant banging coconut shells together... a lethal rabbit... Arthur's confrontation with the masochistic Black Knight... probably best for Python fans, but the uninitiated may well find something worth watching here...

One of the best Monty Python movies ever!!! You will die of laughter from the french guards " I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.", the minstral and Sir Robin " Brave Sir Robin ran away... " "DID NOT!" and the famous Knights of NI!!!! You'll love it! A great satire of the Arthurian legends, the Holy Grail, the hero's journey and anything else they can work into the script. Don't you just love Monty Pyton? :)

Classic Monty Python. A good spoof of the King Arthur type films. Quite a good movie considering its age.
