It's A Short Trip From The Penthouse To The Poorhouse.

Life is all preening, pouting and parties, parties, parties for Tanzie and Ava Marchetta (Hilary and Haylie Duff) - instantly recognised celebrities who are fawned over wherever they go and famous just for being who they are – heiresses to their father’s cosmetic empire. Everyone loves Tanzie and Ava and Tanzie and Ava love their life. But in the cutthroat world of business things can quickly change as the girls realise when they find they are on top of the beautiful people list one day – and personae non gratae the next.

At a function to honour their departed dad, the girls – and the world – discover that one of his skin care products has disastrous, disfiguring side effects – and suddenly no one wants to know the Marchetta sisters – including Ava’s actor fiancé, Mic (Brandon Beemer) who demands his ring back – through his agent, of course. With the scattering of the sycophantic set, Tanzie and Ava find themselves friendless, broke and homeless (after accidentally burning down their house) so they move in with their ex-housekeeper, Inez (Maria Conchita Alonso).

The company – run by their father’s best friend, Tommy (Brent Spiner) – and its board of directors want a quick sale to competitor, Fabiella (Anjelica Huston), but the girls want more. They need to clear their father's name and, with a little uplifting inspiration from Erin Brockovich, the help of a pro bono lawyer called Henry (Lukas Haas) and a guy called Rick (Marcus Coloma) who Tanzie falls for –even if he may be only a lowly car attendant – they set out to do just that.
