The start is good but I did not like it when Adam Sandler first went to the prison, it took me a little bit to warm up to this movie. But after I had it was hilarous!!!
The storyline was a good one, and one that was actually imaginable! I mean most people may not show it but if they just play bad in a poplular sport no one really likes them in the end of the game.

The Longest Yard is a good movie to watch but it's not the best comedy movie I have seen. It got some funny parts in this movie but it gets bit boring in some parts. I thought Adam Sandler and some actors are great in this movie. "The Longest Yard" movie is perfect for males to watch it.

Here we see Sandler as the disgraced ex-football hero playing it straight and keeping the character grounded, likable yet not without his personal demons. The inmates, the guards and the ever corrupt prison warden are all well cast, with Chris Rock, James Cromwell, and Reynolds all turning in appropriately complimentary performances. Some of the most entertaining and memorable moments, however, belong to lesser known actors, without whom this film would've lost much of it's charm.

Do you like to laugh? Well you're going to need to strap yourself in and throw away the key to get through this movie. Otherwise, you'll be reaching for the remote about 90 seconds in. It's true that I might be the world's biggest Adam Sandler fan. It's also true that I lie to get attention. What I am trying to say is that Adam Sandler and Chris Rock = hijinks. Hijinks that come not in the form of laughter or delight, but in a knowing nod to each other that the paycheck they're getting for thisis bigger than the annual adjusted gross export $$ of Thailand. So, prepare for a joyride of comic proportions, but know that that preparation will serve no real purpose because this film is weaker than Calista Flockhart at bench press competition. However, it's still better than 50 First Dates, so put that in your shoe and step in it.

Not one of Sandler's best films, but it isn't horrible by any means. This is mainly drama, but it does have it's side jokes. Having never seen the original film, I can only judge it based on the movie alone and it is good, but not great. Everyone in the movie is really good, but the story wants to drag in scenes. But, there are some moments I thought were really funny. If you are a fan of Adam Sandler, give this a try, but if you are a fan of the original film...there is a good chance that this won't live up to it. Very few remakes ever do.

I liked it - and I'm a fan of the 1974 original... this isn't as serious as the original, but it's still cool. There are some very big men on display... Bob "The Beast" Sapp (6'5'' / 196c, & 350lb / 164 kig) plays a soft first timer, and the enormous Dalip Singh (7'3''/221cm & 420lb/190kg), along with former footballers/wrestlers "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, "Big Daddy" Kevin Nash and Bill Goldberg...
Sandler's pretty good too, as is Christ Rock as his comedic sidekick. William Fichtner is class as usual as Captain Knauer...

A funny, feel good movie where the underdogs get out on top, obviously not without a struggle mind you! Sandler plays his usual charatcher, a funny, smart aleck guy. Definatley a watchable and enjoyable movie for the majority of the family. Based on a ex footballer player who gets put in jail and made to set up a football team to practice against the guards. Turns out though that the inmates seem to have a bit of talent, and give the guards a run for their money!
