On July 2nd 2005, nine cities took part in Live 8. Over 150 artists played in front of 1 million spectators, across 4 continents. The earth had never seen anything like it. Timed to coincide with the G8 summit meeting in Scotland; Live 8 directly called for eight leaders to double aid, fully cancel debt, and deliver trade justice for Africa; in short - to start making poverty history in 2005. what an amazing concert. this was one of the first times famous artists from around the world got together to raise aware ness of the world's current situation and push, really push, for reform. this is our generation getting together to make a difference, and is really worth getting on dvd
