Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are re-united with director Martin Campbell in this epic adventure. The year is 1850 and our swashbuckling crusader is challenged by the most dangerous mission of his life. After fighting to help California become the 31st state of the Union, Zorro (Banderas) must live up to the promise he made his wife Elena (Zeta-Jones) - to give up his secret identity and live a normal life as Alejandro de la Vega. When he hesitates, it threatens to tear them apart. Now, the same forces that conspired to keep California from becoming part of the United States are plotting to unleash a threat that has been 500 years in the making, a threat that could change the course of history forever. And only Zorro can stop it.

3 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 22/01/2007

unfortunately being a big fan of the Mask of Zorro which just make this poor attempt at a sequel seem even worse. yeah i know all the actors and directors and stuff have returned but that doesnt always ensure a great sequel as this is rather absurd, poorly written and not that interesting swordfighting by todays movie standards

3 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 21/01/2007

This move was quite complex compared to the first one but did have many good scenes worth enjoying. The plot is not as good as expected but there were some good fight scenes that justified it. The little boy that played Zorros son was decent but not exactly what you'd expect. So this movie was essentially average - worth renting and watching once. I am glad I didn't see it in theatres. Nonetheless, the special features have more to offer on the making of this movie. Worth checking out...

4 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 03/12/2006

I was looking forward to this movie for months and personally I loved it. I laughed and cheered throughout the movie. If you want a Zorro adventure/action flick you will get it. Catharine Zeta-Jones role is enhanced and she gets to be more than a pretty face. I loved Elena's role as Zorro's partner as well as wife. The mini-me Zorro son was fine with me also and got lots of laughs from the audience. Good villains and great scenery from San Luis Potosi in Mexico. Good stunts especially with the horse. While some of the plot may seem unbelievable you must suspend belief and just sit back for a good time. The audience applauded at the end. Nice music too!

1 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 11/08/2006

A silly film, nowhere near the fun and class of the original film... this film lacks a sense of flow and coherence in places, and the director seems to take cheap ways out - e.g. we think a runaway train is going to collide with the governor's train carriage until, at the last minute - look! Another track branches off just before it! And the marital troubles between Zeta-Jones and Banderas - which I think were supposed to come across as funny - were disturbing. A waste of time...
