Written by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) and directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun), The Last Boy Scout is the Super Bowl of action movies, a flat-out blitz of excitement, blow-you-away special effects and hilarious gimme-five humour set against the world of pro football. Bruce Willis and Damon Wayan's star as a seedy detective and a disgraced quarterback, teaming to dodge ambushes, fire off one-liners and bust chops. When the going gets tough, they get tougher. And funnier. They came to play. And to settle a score in this raging fireball where bigger is better, hits are harder and bad guys end up deader.
This is a really hardcore movie starring Bruce Willis, Halle Berry and Damon Wayans. They all do an exceptional job at acting in this film. It is a seedy movie but for some reason I thought it was quite good. There is some hardcore action and some hardcore language in this movie. It is certainly not for the faint hearted.
“The Last Boy scout” has a fairly dark undercurrent due to the fact that Bruce Willis’ character seems like he’s in need of some serious treatment for his depression. Having said this the movie itself works well and the rapport between Willis and Wayan’s is smooth. The story is the standard stuff, nothing new here but keeping in mind that it’s merely there to showcase these two actors and you’ll enjoy the movie.
Now htis is a wicked cool movie, not the best to come out of bruce willises career buta very good movie all the same, it has some wicked awesome scenes in it like the teddybear pistol and the fire key, good acting all round made it a worth while movie
Its not going to win any major acting awards...ever, but I loved this film as its an exercise in over the top action and its totally unpretentious about it. bruce Willis is nugget hard throughout the film and Damon Wayans comedic timing is great for the one liners he churns out.
It deserves its R18 rating though so not one for the kids.
Bruce Willis is at his hard boiled, sardonic best in this foul, vulgar and violent film from "Top Gun" director Tony Scott. Teamed up with Damon Wayans, they're trying to solve a murder, but it's really an excuse to heap up violent action and tough one liners.
Parts of the film are a bit much... a foul mouthed 12 year old girl is a bit too much to handle (if this was a drama about a dysfunctional family, then maybe; but it's a mysoginistic no brainer action film, so it's a bit harsh). There's a heap of swearing and some gory violence.
Classic Bruce Willis at his best. A great no brainer romp with heaps of action and some great comic relief. Willis plays the hardened, jaded cop. Wayons is an ex football star outed from the game for drug use. The tension between the leads carries much of the movie, with the obvious conclusion being an unlikely friendship. Not a movie everyone will love, but all the blokes should enjoy it.
excellent movie featuring a very early bruce willis and dwain soemthing (from the recnt TV show my wife and kids) which like all of bruce willis's action films involve alot fo bangs, cool action scenes and quite alot of laughs, especially bruces dance right at the end
this is a wicked cool movei (which i have yet to see the first 10 minutes of) which ive seen like 5 or 6 times, definitly a very good performance by bruce willis and same from the black guy (who was the dad in the TV show my wife and kids) a great action about a cop who allies himself with a ex football star to save the day
A seedy detective and a motormouthed disgraced sports star team up for some obscure reason and spend the length of the movie dodging bad guys and bullets and throwing out one liners like they were going out of style. YEah its kind of dumb and loud and not at all deep but at the same time its kind of guilty fun.
