A lively comedy about the cutthroat, hyper-competitive world of little league soccer. Ferrell stars as Phil Weston, an average Joe who's had to put up all his life with his overly competitive father, Buck (Duvall). When Phil decides to coach his 10-year-old son's soccer team, he goes head-to-head for the league championship against Buck, who coaches his own young son on the preeminent team of the league. Old scores come into play as Phil and Buck find themselves going to extreme measures to win the championship trophy.

I just couldn't sit through this one. In the seemingly neverending Will Ferrell bandwagon these days there are going to be funny movies and then duds like this one. He just comes out looking like the guy who tries to take it way too far in motivating these kids and ridicules them to try to get a positive response out of it. It wasn't funny, it was degrading to the kids, and I wasn't happy with where this was going so I stopped watching it after a while.

I didn't like this movie. The idea of the father and son coaching rivalry was a good one, however I think the way they portrayed it wasn't very effective. .I am not really a fan of Will Ferrell and I think that may have made me a little biast towards my negative opinion, howeber I just thought this movie was boring and un funny, it could have been produced much better. Because the under lying story and moral was good cinematic material.

This movie, about a father and son coaching rival soccer teams is hilarious!! Will Ferrell and Robert Duvall defintately shine.
Will Ferrell plays Phil, the son of Buck Weston (Robert Duvall) Buck Weston coaches a soccer team. As a child Phil played for Buck and never got the oppurtunity to play. He was constantly benched.
So when his son's team the tigers, need a coach, Phil steps in. And bets his father that they'll win the playoffs. But in the process, Phil begins to alineate his own son sam and look like a complete idiot!
