The sleepy English hamlet of Little Wallop is about to receive a rude awakening, as the absent-minded Reverend Walter Goodfellow (Rowan Atkinson), his dissatisfied wife Gloria (Kristin Scott Thomas), and their two children, Holly and Petey, await the arrival of their new housekeeper, Grace Hawkins (Maggie Smith). Gloria is a woman struggling to cope. Her teenage daughter's a nymphomaniac, her young son's the perennial target for the local bullies and her marriage to Walter has long-since dwindled into monotony. It's no wonder she's failing to resist the advances of her handsome, American, lothario of a golf pro, Lance (Patrick Swayze). What this family needs is salvation. And fast. It comes in the form of Grace Hawkins, a gentle motherly woman with a smile for everyone and an answer for everything. But Grace is not all she seems

I have watched this movie 4 times and still wet my pants. Every friend I have recommended to watch this have said oh no don't like rowan atkinson and they have also wet their pants. Highly recommend this movie.
For a good laugh and great acting - as you would expect from such a cast - you cannot go past this movie. The story is reminiscent of a Roald Dahl fairy tale and is acted with typical understated British humour. A great movie for all the family
This movie is hilarious. I have never laughed so much ever. It has great acting, affects, dialogue, and especially superb humour – everything you need in a great movie. The movie does have a few scenes that drag out but all in all it’s a must have for all comedy fans and is suitable for basically all ages. It’s a must have, so buy it – You definitely won’t be disappointed. Chjeers
Gorgeous movie. Hilarious and um... worrying? It is very difficult to describe without giving away the entrie plot but it is entertaining - Maggie Smith is a legend and who can fail to laugh at Rowan Atkinson. The wife (I don't remember her name) is wonderful and the children are suitably miffed. It is an hilarous piece of work, a real credit to those in it. You will not be disappointed.
I can't find a word to describe this movie. It is crazy but in a good way, the cast is great and the plot is....well... unexpected but it is clever and hilarious! Good english humour. Maggie Smith is great and it is interesting to see Rowan Atkinson play a normal, well almost normal character. I reccomend it
this movie is great. Particularly good for fans of Maggie Smith, she is excellent in her role. A very english eccentric sort of humour, so avoid if that's not your thing. Rowan Atkinson is also excellent in his role as the vague vicar but somewhat outplayed by his wife. Does not go stale on a second viewing, highly recommended.
This movie is absolutely fantastic!!! A+++
Filled with laughs and lots of black humour it will cater for those of all tastes of humor. With an all star cast, Maggie Smith, Rowan Atkinson, Patrick Swayze and many more, this movie is not lacking the talent to pull this comedy off without a hitch. A definite must see. The ending is hillarious and very unexpected. You'll be in stitches.
This is just superb... Not only does it have classic english wit and humour in it (not to mention patrick Swayze in a posing pouch, funniest thing I have seen in a long time) it is also a very poingnant look at how families, especially unhappy ones, operate within their own worlds.
Everyone in the cast is fantastic, but special mention has to go to Rowan Atkinson who totally sheds Mr Bean to portray the town Priest so well that you will be chearing for him at the end of the film.
