I've seen this Australian mini-series, based on the book of the same name by Bryce Courtenay. I have also read the book. The mini-series follows the book quite closely though there are some necessary edits to keep it within a reasonable time. I found the cast mostly quite appealing though Leanna Walsman as Jessica wasn't as I'd imagined her from the book. The sets, costumes and scenery were lovely and it was interesting to imagine how Australia must have been like at the time this series was set. Jessica is a really interesting character and strong heroine, though a lot of tragic events happen to her and thus this series is quite saddening despite being good.

Wonderful DVd. the story is so good and the girl who plays jessica is wonderful. Must say Sam Neill is magnificent in his part. What a good cast all round. Love it.
