Having saved the Earth from being destroyed entirely by the Xindi Superweapon, Captain Jonathan Archer and the starship "Enterprise NX-01" have been thrown back in time to an alternate version of 1944, where the Nazi expansion has brought German troops onto U.S. soil.
Unfortunately for everyone, having been separated by preceding events, neither Archer nor the rest of the "Enterprise" crew are aware of the other's existence.
The Temporal Cold War continues to rage across time, with the struggle intensifying between the shady masters of the Suliban and the team of agents which includes Daniels.
In the normal timeline, Alpha Quadrant politics continues as normal, with Vulcans and Andorians in a state of near-war, Andorians and Tellarites in constant bickering, and Human-Vulcan relations strained to the point that a sinlge incident could have disastrous consequences. The Romulans remain suspiciously uninvolved.
On board "Enterprise", Trip and T'Pol's relationship appears to be reaching new levels, although T'Pol remains unwillingly engaged to her Vulcan betrothed, Koss.
Some accounts remain unsettled, as Archer and his crew may find on their return to Earth, and T'Pol will certainly find when she returns to her home planet, Vulcan.
The story unfolds...

This is wall to wall excitement and action, a roller coaster ride of a film that never lets up. It's a true classic of the action adventure genre and a superb introdiction to the Indiana Jones character and franchise. The movie has so many memorable scenes, but perhaps the best, and funniest is Jones's dispatching of a sword swinging warrior - the script called for a long, three page fight, but everyone was sick with food poisoning so they just shot the guy and moved on. Brilliant.
When I was a little girl, my brother used to absolutely love watching these Indiana Jones movies. It is good to see that Harrison Ford had a successful career after StarWars. I will never forget the scene of the soup with the eye balls floating in it. That image was burned into my psyche as a young lass.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the second of the Indy films from director Steven Spielberg, though chronologically it is actually the first. This prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark tries to out-do its predecessor for breakneck spills and gross-out moments, but the sparkle isn't quite there. It's an entertaining film for sure, but not as good as the original, partially because the plotting this time round is a little awkward and partially because Kate Capshaw as the main female character is an almighty irritation.
The film opens in a Shanghai restaurant, where Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) causes a riot in pursuit of a diamond. Fleeing the scene with American singer Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) and teenaged pick-pocket Short Round (Ke Huy Quan), he escapes to the airport. However, Indy and his companions unwittingly board an airplane owned by one of Indy's enemies, from which they have to make an audacious mid-air escape when the real pilots bail out mid-flight! Soon, the intrepid trio find themselves in India, where they come across a village in the grip of starvation. The village children have been kidnapped by local cultists to work in a mine, digging for the sacred Sankara Stones, and Indy is persuaded by the distraught villagers to rescue their youngsters. His quest takes him to the opulent Pankot Palace and, beneath it and beyond a maze of tunnels, the Temple of Doom.
Ford is great as Jones, bringing genuine charisma to a role that he was born to play (can you imagine how things would have turned out if Tom Selleck had got the part, as originally planned?) There are some great moments along the way too, including the intentionally subversive opening sequence in Shanghai, a particularly funny and exciting runaway mine-train sequence, and an unforgettable banquet at Pankot Palace in which the food served up is enough to churn any stomach. But Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom still can't live up to the standard set by Raiders of the Lost Ark. As mentioned, Capshaw is a real pain on the senses as the always-squealing heroine, and the plot seems to over-stretch in an effort to link to the next development or set piece. The hunt-for-the-missing-children plot device allows Spielberg to dip into the kind of cloying sentimentality that occasionally mars his films too. This is certainly an entertaining and professionally assembled film, but in no way a rival or an equal to the excellence of its predecessor.
Quite possibly the best action-adventure movie franchise in history. Indy gets caught up trying to find the spiritual idol of a primitive village, but instead of Nazis, this time he has to contend with a sinister voodoo/death cult thousands of years old that are enslaving the villages children to work in the mines and using the village's idol for their nefarious deeds. Personally I think the absence of the Nazis make this movie alittle weaker than the other two but still good nonetheless.
Quite possibly the best action-adventure movie franchise in history. Indy goes looking for Christ's Holy Grail, but once again the treacherous Nazis are on his tail trying to beat him to it. Beautifully choreographed action sequences and Harrison's dour, amost slightly embarassed portrayal of the whip-wielding archaeologist is spot on.
The Indiana Jones Trilogy is one of the rare trilogies where all the movies are quality. This package is especially great as the hours of humourous and action packed movie footage are complemented by interviews and behind the scenes footage, to provide the complete Indiana Jones experience! The value for money is great, considering you're paying for the complete Indi experience.
Harrison Fords' best movie role next to Han Solo. The best film here is definately The Temple of Doom, a wondrous cheese epic that surprisingly gory for a family-orientated adventure film, but Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade are also still gloriously silly fun - never before have the Nazis looked so inept! Great viewing.
Steven Speilberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford - what a combination! Indiana Jones is an iconic character and these are some of the best adventure movies of the era. My personal favourite is The Last Crusade but that's no slight on Raiders of the Lost Ark or Temple of Doom.
A fantastic boxed set that is one you have to add to your collection. All the very memorable and ejoyable Indiana Jones series. And a very young Harrison Ford!!! LOL Good, clean action hero stuff in these movies. The bonus features on how they made the movies etc is very interesting. Anyway, a "must have" for your collection!
