If you are looking for a holiday movie that will give you a laugh and just make you feel good - watch this movie. Great for a date movie or an adult family christmas outing, it was a story with likeable characters and an entertaining storyline. Nothing complicated or suspenseful, but just a cute story where everyone ends up happy! Made me laugh and made me cry (not a sad cry, but a touching cry.) The film reminds me a little of the movie - Love Actually. Just go and watch it - you will leave the theater smiling.
The Holiday is a well directed, skillfully acted and marvelously written comedy/romance. Telling two tales of developing romances, this film has all the qualities to gain a five star rating from me!
Iris (Kate Winslet) has been helplessly in love with a "charming" work colleague by the name of Jasper Bloom (Rufus Sewell) who is a complete and utter sleazeball...
Amanda (Cameron Diaz) is experiencing a relationship crisis, what with her partner Ethan (Edward Burns) defying her by cheating with the young and beautiful receptionist at his work...
Two holidays of a life time for these two woman swapping each other's houses on opposite sides of the Atlantic may change everything...
Fabulous chick flick and bareable for the average guy as well.
A tale of two heart thumping romances taking place on opposite sides of the globe. Cameron with the dashing Jude and Kate with Jack the not so dashing.
Jack Black is as ever a little over the top and made me cringe alot but you do get to see Jude cry...
Generally a pretty safe film to see with the boyfriend / girlfriend and there may be a few heary laughs and a few sniffles.
