Contrary to the previous reviewer, most die-hard Halo fans have problems with the anime shorts. The very fact that it was made by Japan, with American involvement and supervision, rubs some the wrong way, though the animation and style is usually excellent. There are some major problems - Catherine Halsey is turned into a pretty young woman, a female Sangheili (a first for the series) looks too human for many, and there are some real cliches. Overall, though, the stories are really good, even if the viewer isn't a fan of Halo in the first place. As long as you know Covenant=bad, human=good, you'll know all you need to.
Otherwise, there are some real gems. The Babysitter introduces a bit of mystery into the series just through its setting, the two Origins shorts are truly breathtaking and summarise the entirety of Halo's history with representative visuals and give us our first real look at actual Forerunners, and the Package is a high-action space battle with Spartans. The Duel shows viewers the Elite society and the history behind the Arbiter rank, and Homecoming touches on the moral ambiguity of the Spartans' history. Prototype has a badass human "mech" laying a Covenant army to waste, and Odd One Out is a fun little non-canon short that pokes fun at Halo and also some Japanese cliches.
Some fans will disappointed that neither Jen Taylor nor Steve Downes reappear in their iconic roles as Cortana and the Master Chief, but the voice actors make adequate substitutes. There are some goofy choices, like the Prophet in Duel, or one of the Elites in Package, but nothing too major.
There are highs and lows, and everyone will have their favourites. I personally recommend Origins I and II, and The Package, but others will no doubt find their own.

The cartoon wasn't too bad would much rather the graffics be the same as the game to give it the proper halo feel. My son enjoyed it though which is always good.

Ok Halo fans, there was much hype surrounding this legendary Halo game's premier movie Halo legends at comicon last year but with much hype there was also much disappointment upon its release amongst fans with mixed reviews. Of course the die hard Halo fans absolutely loved it with the story line of this movie pretty much following the game synopsis itself. However, the animation of this movie moved away from the realistic feel of the game battles. I think it was ok.
