On October 11, 1999 one day before the anniversary of his father's death, 36-year-old jaded cop, John Sullivan, comes across his father's old ham radio. It is a night of bizarre weather, with the aurora borealis dominating the night sky and, as John plays around with the radio, he finds himself talking to a man who sounds strangely familiar.
When he discovers the man is in fact his father talking to him on the same day but in 1969, John realises he has the power to save his father from dying and create the future that might have been. It is a chance no loving son could pass up, but one that ultimately plays with destiny, bringing with it another terror for John's family to endure - one that must be fought on both sides of the time barrier.

a very interesting movie. i know most probably enjoy it but i did. its about a father and son that somehow connects through a occurance in the atmosphere that are able to talk to each other on a old style radio to each other. the only catch is that they are talking to each other 30 years apart. the story than goes on as the son tries to get his father to fix problems (a murderer) that are occuring in the past. very enjoyable movie
OK, so it's not the most plausible concept in the world. On the other hand, Frequency does manage to present a unique concept with style and originality. Frightened me half to death when I first saw it - now, years later, I'm still on the edge of my seat throughout. Brilliantly acted, tightly suspenseful and intelligently directed, this is one of my favourite science fiction movies of all time!
A rare atmospheric phenomenon allows a New York City firefighter to communicate with his son 30 years in the future via short-wave radio. The son uses this opportunity to warn the father of his impending death in a warehouse fire, and manages to save his life. However, what he does not realize is that changing history has triggered a new set of tragic events, including the murder of his mother. The two men must now work together, 30 years apart, to find the murderer before he strikes so that they can change history--again.
This was a good movie with a unique and yet familiar plot. The actors in it Jim and Dennis make it a thrilling and engaging moive. I found it quite intersting that they didn't pick up on other things to be doing with the ability they had thruogh the radio. But it was worth watching and I think this is a great movie to own. The ending is a little different than expected but exciting.
this is such a good movie! it dealt with the interesting issue of things like time travel, and how once you change something, other things are set in motion! excellent acting from both quaid and cavaziel, this is a gripping thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat as father and son race to save lives. good stuff!
ugh god this movie was soo bad. it was just awful i mean i can get past the whole unlikely ness of the whole situation but what i cant get past is the wholesome ness of dennis quaid doing his portrayal of the best father in the world routine. um yeah never really had me thrilled so to speak but it did have me running to the toilet to vomit.
this was a really gripping movie that had such a good premise, talkling to someone through wires. it wss interesting to anyone who has ideas about life and death and fdate, so it is a good watch for people who enjoy that such as myself. some good acting and dialogue made for a really interesting watch for all!
Frequency has one of those stories that are so outlandishly unbelieveable that there are only two ways for the movie to be - dreadful or wonderful. Thankfully Frequency is wonderful, it manages to suspend disbelief with ease and flair. Provided you check your credulity at the door its a fun and thriller ride to take.
