This is really well made film. The story is based on the comic books of the same name and if you enjoyed those, you’ll love this. The animation is done well, but the sound quality could be better. Even if you don’t know the comics, I think everyone would enjoy this animated film from the 80s in their collection, making it a great buy, if not for yourself as a gift.

This has to be one of the top ten classic new zealand movies. I was just a child when I first watched Footrot Flats and loved it (although I did cry in a few sad parts). It really is a movie that every older kiwi child should watch - the humour is great and kiwi kids will be able to identify with the young ones in the movie and the rugby scenes. I have watched it again as an adult and enjoyed it just as much - a real classic.
