And so begins "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. A man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time.

Although a far fetched premise (after all who ages backwards?) it was a beautiful love story that spanned a lifetime. It wasn't your usual, predictable love story though. Daisy didn't lay eyes on Benjamin and decide she was going to marry him, Benjamin didn't either. The disparities between Daisy and Ben and their unusual romance was handled with compassion and a sense of decorum rarely seen these days. Ben's adventures where enthralling and Daisy's "fall from grace" was believable and heart rending. The life experiences the two characters lived through were very believable, from their relationships with other people to their eventual coming together as a couple however briefly. I suggest you suspend belief and simply enjoy the imagery and romance of this wonderful movie. The individual story lines of Ben and Daisy alone are worth giving this movie a chance.
I saw this movie at the theatre, and it was amazing! The love story between Daisy and Benjamin is very sweet- and although I thought this movie was going to be predictable, there were quite a few surprises and plot twists on the way. Unlike other 'slice of life' movies that only show you a single drama in a person's life- you feel like you have lived through all of Benjamin's by the time the movie is over! =)
