Guy Ritchie's follow-up film to his successful debut "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", is another lurid trip into the British underworld and another cult smash-hit! Along for the ride this time are Brad Pitt (in a dazzling performance that was acclaimed by the critics), Benicio Del Toro (best known for his role in "The Usual Suspects"), Dennis Farina (from "Get Shorty") and Lock Stock's Vinnie Jones in a story about a diamond heist gone helter-skelter. Laced with brutal violence, brutal humour and a brilliant soundtrack, "Snatch" is a cool new thriller from a hot new director - don't miss it!

Brilliant, black humour at its best. There will be definate repeat viewings in the future. Partner enjoyed it as well. Very different.......shows the Pitt lad in a totally unexpected role.
Followup to Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is just as good, if not better. Similar format in there being several plots with characters all interwinding with each other. The script is hilarious with almost every line being a quote. Fans of Snatch might want to look out for the two disc edition.
When you're following up a film like Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, you're next movie's going to have to be very special in deed. Unfortunately, Snatch isn't very special at all. It follows the same format, with several plots going at once which all intertwine towards the end, but here it feels a lot more contrived, and the addition of Hollywood stars add a certain gloss to proceedings that detracts from the grimey brilliance of Lock Stock. A disappointment to say the least.
This is a very funny movie i must say, it has a reasonably good story line to it, some interesting violence scenes and so many funny lines, i never expected it to be any where near as funny as it wound up being, the blacvk guys are helarious, form start to finsih funny stuff from them
Don't get me wrong, this is an outstanding film on every level. But for me it fell short of the mark when compared to Richie's earlier work "Lock Stock".
I found the story to be predictable and the characters were mere shadows of those portrayed in lock stock.
It has some great moments but overall I found that the characters and plots did not come together as smoothly as they did in Lock Stock.
The general opinion among my friends seems to be you will prefer which ever one you saw first.
One of the best movies I may have watched...the movie has several humorous lines and caused me to laugh out loud many times. The movie is pretty violent but it didnt bother me to much. I love the many eccentric characters especially Mickey played by Brad Pitt. Themany stroyline were beautifully woven together for an amazing climax.
Jason Statham really came into his own in this film as Turkish... Vinnie Jones plays type again... However, the show is stolen by Brad Pitt as a pugilistic Irish gypsy who we can't understand a word he speaks... it is very violent, a la "Lock, Stock"... characters like 'Cousin Avi', 'Boris The Blade', 'Franky Four Fingers' and 'Bullet Tooth Tony' ensure we're in for some tough British gangster stuff!
This is an incredibly fast paced film and as with Lock Stock, this film has brilliant casting. I must say, I absolutely loved Lock Stock, so I'm not sure if I like Snatch more, but it is a great film nonetheless. While Brad Pitt's casting couldvery well have been to get a little more publicity for the film, his performance is hilarious and an absolute stand out.
This is an excellent fast paced comedy that will take you places you've never been (and don't ever want to go) with a great cast showing you all the way through. This movie has a great plot where without them realising it everyone is caught up in this very messy, bunged diamond heist. It's a hilarious movie and i recommend you add it to your DVD collection.
In a similar style to Guy Ritchie's previous gangster-style movie Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, this one is just as hilarious if not better than his earlier effort. Jason Statham is great in this but almost overshowed by Brad Pitt with the most unrecognisable while authentic accent you've ever heard and Dennis Farina whose frankness steals every scene he's in. It also begs the question whether you really can make a person "disappear" with hacksaws and a pen of pigs. What makes this really funny is the circumstances in which things happen and how all these characters inadventently interact with each other in some way or another. Many laughs in situations where you usually wouldn't expect to laugh. Brilliant.
