The first time I saw this movie I didn't understand why it was ranked by many as a movie they could watch over and over again. About twenty times later (my small son has never tired of it) I understand. It's fun, sweet and not irritating. A very nice DVD to have on hand for small children.
This is a great family movie. The characters are wonderfully animated. This movie is full of laughs and its something that you can watch over and over again because you will like it so much.
Children will especially love watching this movie and adults will enjoy watching it as well.
This movie as you can see from the title is set in the Ice Age. It is about the migration of all the animals and how one of the animals doesn't migrate then how he meets up with a mammoth. They are given a human child from a mother who is swept away in a river and it becomes their quest to return the baby to his father.
This is a great movie and you don't know what you are missing out on if you don't watch this movie.
A real classic and GREAT FUN for the whole family to watch!Come join this crazy unlikely team of creatures,Sid the fun loving sloth,Manfred the moody woolly mammoth and the bad turn good Diego the saber-tooth tiger. They save a human baby, only to find they have to get it back to it's herd of people and here the trip begins...Now you have too watch it to find out the rest.
Many film companies use CGI as an excuse to make mediocre, hideous-looking characters and animation, Not so this movie. Any graphic shortcuts and jagged edges are worked into a nice slighly offbeat and enjoyable visual style. The characters ae not annoying and the setting with all the ice age animals is very enthralling. The story itself is very straightforward, but enough embellishment is added to make the film interesting throughout. This DVD is notable as the first kids movie to have serious extras on its DVD.
I love this film. Characters, storyline, animation, creativity, humor and even very heartfelt and touching. Overall the DVD was good and very much appropriate for young children. It does have a few concepts that are not appropriate, but are presented in a way that is way over the heads of children adn does have a few scenes that very concervative parents may term violent or inappropriate. The movie is original and entertaining!
A great movie that I've watched many times with my daughter. I love the music and the characters, even though I'm not a fan of Raymond (from everybody loves Raymond) who does the voice for Manny the woolly mammoth. And I've never really worked out how the saber toothed squirel thing fits into the story. recommended none the less.
Ice age is a fantastic children's movie. Very young children may find it a bit scary in some places, but for those school aged and above they should enjoy it. Scrat is the modern day coyote, Sid is always getting himself in trouble but he has a good heart, Diego is the villian that turns out to be good and Manny is the hilarious protector of them all (played by Ray Ramano). Would recommend. Number 2 is even better!
Back when the Earth was being overrun by glaciers, and animals were scurrying to save themselves from the upcoming Ice Age, a stupid sloth named Sid, a woolly mammoth named Manny, a saber-toothed tiger named Diego, and an acorn-loving saber-toothed squirrel named Scrat are forced to become unlikely heroes. The four reluctantly come together when they have to return a human child to its father while braving the deadly elements of the impending Ice Age.
i normally do not really like animated movies, but this one really stands out to me as one of the more memorable ones. for starters, the humour used was actually clever, with some good scriptwriting as opposed to relying on the animals falling over etc. it was also fascinating to see what life could have been like back in those times!
