Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away is possibly one of the best animated films ever made. Its story is touching, and the characters are given a depth of personality so often lacking in animation. The character of No-face is one of the most memorable. The animation is undoubtedly beautiful, and the world of the spirits vivdly imagined. Humour is intermixed with an often subtle horror, but it is never violent. Too many American animated films revert to an extremely violent defiance of the body. Spirited Away does not do this. It is a personal journey of self-discovery, of coming to terms with one's own independence, and the path one should pursue in life. A memorable and lasting achievement. Superb.

Fantastic fantastic movie!! Cant praise it enough! A wonderful adventure no matter your age. Check out the other movies from this director (Princess mononoke, Kikis delivery service etc) They're all amazing and a great gift!

This is my favourite animation movie of all time. I wouldn't call it a family movie, for our 7 year old did not enjoy it nor did he appreciate the mystical and dark undercurrents. It was enjoyed by our older children. It is dark, brooding, mystical, deep, unfathomable and dream-like.

Is a beautiful and captivating story, you cant help but fall in love with the characters of this movie. I have watched and own quite a few Studio Ghibli movies and this is one of my favourittes. Many people believe that "Anime" is just cartoons, but alot whom watch understands that this isnt true, usually the english adaptations demean the original story but the uncut and original Japanese versions and wonderful.

Its an amazing movie along the lines of Hal's Moving Castle, its a great movie for younger veiwers, but some of the themes maybe slightly scary. An enchanting story about a girl who wishes to save her parents from the fate they were assigned to (being pigs) and she winds up in a new dimension. A heart warming tale. Suitable for young and old alike

It is a bit like a cross between Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz, with a bit of this and a bit of that thrown in for good measure. It is a really trippy film to watch, and not an easy one to swallow if you are used to the usual direct and easy-to-follow story line you expect from most animations. For those people, watch it once, then once again, and you will appreciate it a lot more the second time around.

I really liked this movie i have it on VHS this is a great movie who falls into another time and dimetion. She befrends on of the leders side men and she has to brave everything to save him and her family. This is a heart warming movie i loved the end bit its fantastic.

It's nice to be able to see all the actors and actresses as they give voices to the animated characters, but isn't there more they could tell us? Indeed, the second DVD includes a piece describing the voiceover process in much more detail. In short, this is a glamorous but fluffy addition to the first DVD that should've been interlaced with the second DVD feature, not stood alone in it's own 15 minutes segment.
