Fantastic piece of Anime. I thied in vain to order it though Madman but they do not have the distribution rights. I was also able to pick up a "Sample Pack" of episodes (Cowboy Bebop/Remixes Voll.1) from Fishpond. Cowboy Bebop Is an early title (the shows) and differs greatley from mose early titles, at least the ones before "Akira" and "Ghost In The Shell" or it's TV serirs "Stand Alone Complex. Most early Anime seemed to be driven by effects and shock but those that I have previously mentioned worked on plot driven storylines. So if you are looking for an action packed movie you could do a lot worse than "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie"

Though released after the TV show ended, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie fits somewhere in the middle of the series. That isn't to say that you need to have seen the anime series to understand what's going on, as this is one of the most accessible anime films in some time, about a team of bounty hunters attempting to track down a terrorist who happens to be a former commando. Featuring some incredible action sequences, particuarly the tense gunfights and bone-crushing martial arts, this is a great film to ease yourself into more action-orientated anime, that whilst violent is never disgustingly so.

Well you got to get into this kind of thing to enjoy it. The story has a little originality but so much of Manga is the same these days and getting churned out that its hard for me to enjoy anymore. The characters have very little depth and I for one do not believe that just because they are animated that they can’t have depth. In any case if you’re a fan, you’ll love it.

I had never watched Cowboy Bebop before watching this - and it was refreshing that I didn't really need to have. It was fairly easy to follow, the music was funcy and the script entertaining. Great for the fans or for the complete beginner.

I don't quite understand why some reviewers a complaining that this movie is just an extended episode -what exactly is wrong with that? The animation is improved from the animated series, the music is well done and the story is interesting. True there ism't a great deal of character development but if you didn't already know and love these characters already you probably wouldn't be looking at this DVD anyway.

this is basically just a long and drawn out version of an episode of the series, but much like the series cow boy bebop the movie is brilliant. i wouldnt say it is worth paying the price of a movie for when u could just watcjh the series but if you are a big fan then definately go for it, as it is still very good.

This movie is basically a glorified episode of the anime series, while it is enjoyable in itself it is difficult to justify paying the price of a film to own it. It should really be packaged with the series. If you do get it you should know that it slots in near the end of the series in terms of storyline. Despite my reservations, it is a good episode, and still worth seeing.

The Cowboy Bebop movie is just as good as the series if not better. It's dark and thought provoking with sarcastic humour and an uncomfortable glimpse into the future. The plot races along and in true Bebop style the music and soundtrack are gorgeous and perfectly suited to the mood. Don't think of this as a kids movie because it's animated, its deep and dark and as fantastic as you would expect as Bebop installment to be.
