what a classic movie!! who ever thought that the jamacians would win a gold at the winter olympics not me but they did this story is great it shows you that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and work hard ou can make any dream come true no matter how small or big. A funny and inspiring move deffo worth a watch.

This is a hilarious movie to watch. Been looking for this movie for a long while and was really glad to have it on DVD. You will crack up laughing watching this movie.

Irving Blitzer disgraced himself when putting extra weights into his team's bob in the Olympics, resulting in his gold medal being taken away from him. Years later, Derice Bannock, son to a former friend of Irv, fails to qualify for the 100-yard sprint for the Olympics due to a stupid accident. But when he hears of Irving Blitzer living also on Jamaica, Derice decides to go to the Games anyway. If not as a sprinter, then as a bobsledder. After some starting problems, the first Jamaican bobsledding team is formed and heads for Calgary. In the freezing weather Derice, Sanka, Junior and Yul are only laughed at, since nobody can take a Jamaican bobsledding team led by a disgraced trainer for serious. But team spirit and a healthy self confidence may lead to a few surprises in the upcoming Winter Games.

Different type of sports themed comedy than what usually comes out now. A group of Jamacians want to become bobsledders and with the help of a formal bobsledder go all the way to the Winter Olympics. Funny and powerful at the same time, this is the sort of comedy that should be coming out more often.

I'm not sure how 'based on a true story' this film actually is, but it's still good fun, and features one of John Candy's last great roles, as he plays a disgraced Winter Olympics coach trying to train Jamaica's first Olympic bob sleading team. It may be very silly, but it's still hilarious in parts, and is one the best family-friendly comedies I've seen.

Great movie very funny showing that anyone can rise above the challenges thrown at them.
The characters are over the top hilarious. And you have to love John Candy in this. Cool Runnings was the last movie that he did before he passed away.
Absolutley one of my favourite chick flicks. Pick it up today there isnt a funnier movies.
Its fun it will make you laugh and make you think of life just that little bit differently. Its a chick flick through and through sure to be a date pleaser. So go ahead and pick it up

A far-fetched comedy plot makes for great viewing.
Excellent watch for the whole family, an inspirational story about overcoming odds and having a great time with your friends whilst doing it.
These guys are Jamaican. Is there anything they can't do?
Fantastic Movie all the way!

This is the ultimate in slapstick comedy - John Goodman is absolutely hilarious and even the thought of jamaicans competing in bob sled racing in the winter olympics make me laugh. This is a great movie, very funny and entertaining.

jamacians competing in the winter olympics? what could be funnier? even though i haven't seen this movie in years it still makes me laugh just by thinking about it, the plot is hilarious by itself but when you couple that with characters and their funny jamaican accents you can be sure you're in for a side splitting time. defiantely get this one, every one will love it.
