Collateral Damage threatens to become a good film on several occasions but never quite makes it. Partially it's due to the post 9/11 re-editing that played down the innocent civilian casualties in Arnie's quest for vengeance on Colombia terrorists, but more because it seems that the script was probably rewritten a few too many times to accommodate the Austrian Oak. Some swipes at the duplicity and counterproductive nature of American intervention in South America survive as the war hits home, but the film is ultimately content to turn its revolutionaries into cardboard fanatics (not to mention throwing in a ridiculous scene with a snake in case we don't get the point) and go for the big bangs. Still one of its stars better pictures of the last 12 or so years, though.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of my all time favorite actors, if not my very favorite! And how ironic today, July 30th he turns 55 the same day this movie came out for rent, that's so cool he's the man! Anyways this movie wasn't too good at first but it gets better and towards the end gets pretty good. It has some decent action and some good explosions. Arnold does a good job I felt and so does Cliff whatever, it's certainly nowhere near his best but not bad, worth checkin out.
one of the last films starring arnold schwarzenegger. he stars as a fire fighter coping in the aftermath of a terrorist attack which killed his wife and son. blinded by revenge, he goes looking for 'el lobo' the suspected mastermind behind the attack. large explosions and impressive effects provide good eye candy but the story is not quite up to the traditional standard of arnies movies
Enjoyable enough Arnie vehicle - when his wife and chil are killed during a terrorist attack, the Austrian Oak goes looking for the bad guys - and the twists and (moderate) thrills start. Post 9/11, this is hardly the earth shattering film Swarzenegger wanted it to be. It also stars our own Cliff Curtis. An OK film, but nothing great, by any stretch...
Not one of Arnold Swharzennegar's best action movies unfortunately. Starring Arnold as a Los Angeles firefighter who goes after a Colombian revolutionary who was responsible for the deaths of his wife and son. Pretty farfetched in both the storyline and the delivery. Lots of big bangs and explosive action but still not enough to cover over the thin plotline. Also starring Elias Koteas.
I could'nt get involved in the movie or characters at all. Not one for the collection.
