City of God is a bleak movie about a stark and brutal world from which there is no escape only through death. Set in Rio de JAniro the characters are caught up even before their births in a world of brutal violence and crime and grinding poverty. A young boy becomes a combat photographer taking photographs of the carnage he lives with. ITs a savage movie.
