One of the greatest Aussie films of all time. It's is a painfully funny movie, a pioneer in the latest genre of "docu-comedy". Similar humor to The Office where although you may be covering your eyes and cringing, it is some of the funniest movie moments ever. Characters are so well developed and portrayed you forget this is fiction. A sure hit for anyone who will give it a try.

An excellent movie, and an excellent release to DVD. This has gone done as an Australian classic, if you haven't seen The Castle yet please do. No longer will you wonder what "Straight to the pool room" means. It's basically an hilarious tale of an 'aussie battler' family being forced to move out of their home (or 'Castle') by the council and developers. David fights Goliath.. who will win? :) It's great!

This is one of the most funniest Australian films ever be released! It's full of aussie humour that most likely no one else other than australians would understand! The story is great...one mans fight to save his home! It's amazing to know that this film was intially made on a $750, 000 budget with no special affects or camera angles, just some great characters played by some great actors and the voice over.!! Great and funny film!

This movie is hilarious. I have never laughed so much ever. It has great acting, affects, dialogue, and especially superb humour – everything you need in a great movie. The movie does have a few scenes that drag out but all in all it’s a must have for all comedy fans and is suitable for basically all ages. Buy it – You definitely won’t be disappointed

The Ultimate Western Spoof. A town where everyone seems to be named Johnson is in the way of the railroad. In order to grab their land, Hedley Lemar, a politically connected nasty person, sends in his henchmen to make the town unlivable. After the sheriff is killed, the town demands a new sheriff from the Governor. Hedley convinces him to send the town the first Black sheriff in the west. Bart is a sophisticated urbanite who will have some difficulty winning over the townspeople.
this movie is a verry beautiful movie

this is a great movie and i think it has a very good plot and story line, the actors did really well in this movie. i recommend this movie to families and other people.
he Kerrigan family are a typical aussie "battler" family and living right next to the airport never seemed to be a problem for them until the airport wants to expand - on to their land. Their initial reaction is "f**k the airport" but it soon becomes obvious that airport is going to get its way - one way or another. This is Dale Kerrigan's story of their battle with the airport to keep their beloved house, along with "bloody good set of gates".

Great Australian film which is almost reaching cult status. Filmed on a tight budget in order to make money to film another Australian film, The Dish, ironically this film did far better. Features a family who live near an airport and get a letter one day saying that the land has been bought out from under them and they have to move. The family take the airport to court to fight for their house. Brilliant comedy that fans of other Australian films will love.
