A somewhat dark fable, full of mysteries, lies and horror; awfully over dramatized.
This is a movie for horror fans for sure, but is quite stupid, really. I mean, I reckon that the actual makers and creators of this film seem to rely on the fact that they have all the good Hollywood equipment and all that. The execution of this production was merely a failure, and once again, the trailer offered a pretense overview of this disappointment. I reckon Stephen T. Kay could've done a better job of this movie, for we all like to watch our childhood terrors come to life! Hopefully the "2050" remake will offer better quality tyan this abysmal suspense.
Set in Chicago, 'Boogeyman' tells the haunting tale of a young man traumatized by memories of terrible events he experienced in his childhood bedroom and who, years later, reluctantly returns home to face his fears of a monstrous entity that could be real or merely a figment of his imagination.
Another attempt at doing an old horror film with more of a "today" feel.
This is one film i recomend you NOT bother with,it is full of plot holes that asks more questins at the end than it anwers. The idea of it being something hat was manifested by a young boy then destroys other people with no connection baffles rather than amuse. One sad attempt at trying to make you wet yourself and leave the light on but you should turn it off as well as the dvd player and go into the kitchen of a KFC and more likely than not you will be more scared.
This is a good movie for dark horror movie nights on the couch, some really good effects and a bit creepy, not gorey like alot of horrors so leaves a bit to the imagination, anyone who had a boogeyman under their bed as a kid will appreciate it, you have to watch this movie at night in the dark to get the full feel of the movie, not a bad story line and acting, good effects, good all round horror
This is quite a scary movie, i dont know if i enjoyed it that mudh though. i think i got abit bored throughout it. i supose its worth buying but dont kno if i could watch it again and again, i would give it a seven out of ten i guess
This is definitely a movie you must watch at home on your own and in a dark room. You will not be disappointed. The acting itself was pretty good considering it was made in good old New Zealand. I myself have this movie in my collection and consider it worth watching more than once.
Boogeyman is an okay movie, it's not really scary but the plot isn't that bad. I did enjoy going to see it at the movies but I probably wouldn't watch it if I had another chance. It isn't anything amazing. =)
Barry Watson (7th Heaven) is the very credible center of this pleasant suprise of a film. His character faces his childhood demons in this thriller about a 20 something guy who, as a child watched his father being taken by the boogeyman. No cheese, lots of scare value, makes this film an unexpected standout!
this was a pretty good horror movie starring that guy from seventh heaven, nice to see him in a new role. some really frightening scenes in here, will really have you checking under th bed for the fateful boogeyman! even the trailer is scarey to this, which really shows you what a scarey movie this is.
Boogeyman is a good movie. I got little bit confused with a story after watched it for first time because it's so mystery. So I had to watch it again to understand better with the story of the movie. I thought the movie was so creepy. Barry Watson is a good acting in Boogeyman.
