Not as good good as _The Blue Lagoon_ the ending is odd !

The Blue Lagoon and return to the blue lagoon are two beautiful teen love stories that all girls love! they follow two young teenagers who have grown up alone on a deserted island and expirience love and lust for the first time with eachother. Brooke Shiels stars in the original and Milla Jacovich takes her places in the second one and both girls, considering they were both very young at the time, do a greatm job of capturing young love in all its glory. A must have for all the die hard romantics out there!

Its true that this movie is as another review wrote somewhat “soft porn� but despite that it is a great movie which shows the journey into adulthood of the two stranded children played by the brilliant Brooke Shields, Christopher Atkins. However through it is a great buy to get both the blue lagoon and return of the blue lagoon do not hold much hope that the squeal well be worth the time spent watching it compared to the original it’s a complete tragedy that it was ever allowed into the publics view.

I've never understood the critical slam this film has received. Then I saw the widescreen dvd version and understood; everyone has been watching it in pan and scan! The film is a visual poem. So much of the story telling is done through visual information. The impact of this is lost when the cinematography is altered. Remember that Nestor Almendros received an Academy Award nomination for his work on this film. The film has resonated with global audiences for so long for this very reason. I suggest people watch the dvd commentary with Randal Kleiser and Brooke Shields to get a better understanding of why this film is still such a popular one.

People attack the acting, but these are children left alone with no one to guide them into adult sophistication. Their interaction and reactions to situations are very consistent with this scenario. Yes, the birth scene is a little rushed, but do we really need to see the umbilical cord? Not all films need to be about gritty reality, ala "Taxi Driver." No one asks to see the bloody guts of the smashed witch in "The Wizard of Oz."

It is a beautiful, romantic film that speaks to millions of people. It seems that only the most skeptical cynics cannot embrace this film.

This movie is a classic, I fell in love with it the first time I laid eyes on the screen, it seemed as the characters just melded together as they worked so well together, I was engulfed in the love and romance, No movie buff's collection is complete without this, it is just so beautiful, a movie in which words just can not describe, You will love, It was just so great watching I couldn't look away, I can hardly remember this movie as I watched it so long ago, But I still know I love it!

The ultimate collectors dream!

I can't speak for "Return of the Blue Lagoon", but the first part "The Blue Lagoon", is one I watched recently and thought it was cringeworthy! The poorly constructed storyline centered around sexual themes turned this into softcore porn that even the worst in the industry could have a good laugh at. Furthermore, the brother/sister type relationship between the characters is likely to make many uncomfortable.

I really loved the two movies "The Blue Lagoon" and "Return of the Blue Lagoon" because there is mix of adventure, drama, and romance. Two young people were lost on island and they had to learn how to survive. There are beautiful things to see in the movies with animals, island and ocean. It was great to see Brooke Shields was so young in the movie.
