Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) prowls the steel-and-microchip jungle of 21st-century Los Angeles. He's a "blade runner" stalking genetically made criminal replicants. His assignment: kill them. Their crime: wanting to be human. The story of Blade Runner is familiar to countless fans. But few have seen it like this. Because this is director Ridley Scott's own vision of his sci-fi classic. This new version omits Deckard's voiceover narration, develops in slightly greater detail the romance between Deckard and Rachael (Sean Young) and removes the "uplifting" finale. The result is a heightened emotional impact: a great film made greater. Most intriguing of all is a newly included unicorn vision that suggests Deckard may be a humanoid. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Is Deckard a replicant? As with all things in the future, you must discover the answer for yourself.

This is the definitive version of this great film.
In the early nineties there was what they called the "directors cut" which removed the voice over which was in the original theatrical released version and added the "unicorn scene".
This 2007 release is the real "directors cut" - no voice over and a much tightly edited film which vastly improved on the previous versions. The unicorn scene is still in this version albeit a slightly different scene.
The other disc is an in depth documentary on the film also addressing areas / parts of the new version and how / where it was changed. An absorbing special featuring most of the cast of the movie in the discussions.
$13, what a bargain. This is a very nice 2 disc set, though not as orgasmically good as the 5 disc Ultimate Collectors Edition, which may be too indulgent for the average fan of the film itself. This truely historical masterpiece of scifi cinema is brilliantly transferred to dvd with glorious image and sound qualities. If you want to see potentially better versions of the film itself though, try the 5 disc version, i would say its worth it
