The entire three seasons of Black Books in one set, this box set is really great value, adding up to around nine hours in total of this wonderfully funny British comedy series, created, co-written and starring Dylan Moran as Bernard Black, the reclusive and sour bookstore owner whose only friends are Manny (Bill Bailey), his long-suffering employee and tenant, and Fran (Tamsin Greig), who ran a curio shop next to Bernard’s shop and is probably the only person in the world that actually enjoys Bernard’s and Manny’s company. The series is a wonderful mix of dry wit, observational humour and brilliant slapstick gags that never get old. Included are some nice extras, including episode commentary and outtakes. Very highly recommended for humour-lovers that are fond of such classics as Fawlty Towers and Blackadder especially.

This is one of my favourite shows. The writing and acting are superb. One of those rare shows you can watch over and over and is still so funny everytime.
Bernard, Manny and Fran fumble their way through daily life cursing their customers and pouring the wine.
The extras are great, look out for 'Black Dolls' especially - a short episode performed by knitted dolls. And the out-takes are hilairious - season one 'Break it! Don't break it' gets me everytime. I use that one in daily life :)

Black Books is a very funny monty pythonesque british comedy, that unfortunately was taken off air before we could get to see the full potential of this series. very funny and i highly reccomend this to anyone with a love for comedy.

Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey are at their finest in this complete series of Black Books. If you want some very clever comedy with fantastic characters, this is for you. It will have you in stitches!

I was very pleased to find this boxed set. Black Books is a fantastic comedy and Dylan Moran (who plays the ever brash and drunk Bernard) is so funny he makes my sides hurt. This isn't just another silly comedy, Black Books is refreshingly different, a wee bit wacky and very very clever. Surprisingly enough, this is a very good value set too - I originally owned each DVD individually and can tell you that this is very cheap in comparsion to separately purchasing and is a nice way to keep them all together. Would make a great gift for anyone who has a quirky sense of humour. Look out for "Dirty" and, of course, the episode that started it all. The Litte Book of Calm will never be the same again! Brilliant, excellent, a must have.
