Although the storyline is nothing to write home about, the way they have done the special effects in this movie, and the way they tell the story, it really makes this movie a treat and a half.
Really well filmed and edited and so believable. Pandora (the other planet) is just fantastic, and you find it easy to immerse yourself in this new world.
I don't know if it was made as an environmental plea, but it certainly does the job, making you think about how destructive and greedy the human race can be.
I am so glad I saw this in 3d in cinemas and if it came out in 3d on blu-ray for 3d tvs, I would be in buying a copy today.
Highly recommended.

This movie is one of the best movie i've ever seen. James Cameron is so a genius. He created beautiful Pandora where everything is so pure and colourful. The adventure of Jake Sully to Pandora brings people to different feelings. The aliens in Padora is also well-made from a genius imagination. I really enjoy watching Avatar on my big TV.

An amazing story and stunning visual effects. It rasises the bar in special effects. The imaganation from which this world is created is just fantasic, just look at the amazing floating islands! The love story is an age old tale, a love found, deined and then rekindled, a great story of star-crossed lovers. The idea that you can live in the body of another is amazing. I loved the story and wished that the stunning journey would never end. The most amazing thing I have ever seen. This is a already a classic that is a must buy for the family. The power the this world will leave you spell bound. A huge 10 out of 10 for the family.

James Cameron's Avatar is an exciting adventure following a the story of a paralyzed ex-marine called Jake Sully on the moon of Pandora. Jake gets invited to a mining operation on Pandora, when his twin brother is killed, to operate a artificially made human/alien body known as an Avatar, as only his DNA will work with it. Jake must use this Avatar to infiltrate the alien race called the Na'vi who wish to stop the mining. This film has some of, if not, the best special effects to date and would make the movie a must see even if it didn't have such an amazing storyline.

I loved this film down to every single shred. The amazing special effects, the colors and the pure imagination of creating such a movie. The whole movie was so well done that it made me sit on the edge of my seat all the way through. Just when I thought it may be finished, it kept going, and more amazing things happened. I enjoyed the whole idea of the world they were at and the whole idea of becoming an avatar and living in their world as if you were in a dream. Be able to return to the real world. The whole aspect of the idea sucked you in so deep that you forgot why the movie was a movie and what it was about. When the tragedy of real life came into the fantasy you were ripped from that world and dragged into the realm of horrific human tendencies and how easy we can destroy something so wonderful and beautiful. If i could choose between a big tree and a rock that would burn nicely for machinery I'd choose the tree. that whole world was connected and they destroyed it. The way they cried and looked at each other and they way their hearts broke little by little when things were going bad it broke my heart to see that.
