In this third outing, Austin Powers really has lost his mojo. The gags are strained, and there is virtually no plot to speak of. The introduction of Goldmember - yet another character Mike Myers plays - is more weird than funny. A disappointing final entry in this very tired franchise.

After the two fabulous Austin Powers films (International Man of Mystery and The Spy Who Shagged Me), the third in series, Goldmember, feels a bit tired. Mike Myers is still great as both Austin, Dr Evil and Fat Bastard, as well as playing a new character, the roller-skating bad guy Goldmember. Michael Caine makes a funny appearance as Powers Snr., but Beyonce has next to no charisma, especially next to such talents as Caine and Myers.

About as necessary as Yogi Bear's necktie and handcuffs, Goldmember is Austin Powers flogging a dead horse. Filled with the same jokes that the first two had, there is nothing new on offer here. Even Michael Caine can't save this from sinking. Tired and worn, fans will most likely still enjoy, but will noticed that it's been done too. Fans of all three films may want to look for the triple film boxset.

Dr. Evil and Mini-Me have somehow escaped from a maximum security prison and the duo team up with Goldmember. Together they formulate a plan for world domination. And this particular scheme requires a large amount of time-travel, and kidnapping Austin Powers' father, England's master spy, Nigel Powers. As Austin chases Dr. Evil, Mini-Me and Goldmember through time, he stops in 1975 to "connect" with an old girlfriend, detective Foxxy Cleopatra, and requests her help to track the villains and save his father.

I'm a big fan of the first 2, but this one just seemed unnecessary. Most of the jokes in this one are recycled from the 2nd one and other jokes were just stupid. The only funny moments came mostly with scenes that had dr evil in them and the "mole" scenes were pretty funny to. But, even some of the scenes with dr evil were kinda stupid. The opening credits thing was really stupid to, it just went too far with the cameos. I really only bought this one cause it was like 5 bucks at compusa. Overall: If you've seen the first two, just stick with those cause you won't be getting anything new from this one.

more clever acting from mike myers! he plays so many roles with such ease in this good movie, which has a lot of laughs. beyonce plays foxy cleopatra with such flair, and i love her song work it out which features in here. if you were a fan of the others, you will enjoy this one, as it is more cool acting from the brit hero.

Oh man, the franchise that could have been... this is more of a Bond spoof than the apalling second film, but a Dutch villain who eats his dry skin? Oh, that's side splitting in its hilarity, Myers... sadly, the whole thing is disappointing; it's looking tired, and drags terribly...it's just not funny, unless you like your humour juvenile, in which case why spoof the 60s style of a franchise? Lacks the wit to be a classic...

The beginning of this film will have you in stitches and you'll be in them for te rest of the film. With the addition to the cast of Beyonce Knowles as Foxy Cleopatra and Michael Caine as Nigel Powers , Austins father. Myers takes on yet another role as Goldmember and manages to be twice as hilarious. This film is the best in the series and a must see for eveybody.

definitely the best in the series.
The beginning is brilliant - I particuarly like the bit with Britney (even people who hate her will laugh!). Beyonce also doesn't disappoint, I actually liked the way that they don't "shag" during the movie, I thought it was a bit more tasteful - which is something for these movies. I was quite sad they decided not to make any more movies, because the ending set it up for another one nicely.
"Solid gold!"
